I’ve put up reviews of all four Micro-Change Combiners, Bruticus, Devastator, Predaking, and Superion. There are links to my other Kre-O blogs at the end of the review.
Transformers Kre-O Micro-Changers Combiner Predaking (Razorclaw, Torax, Headlock, Divebomb)
Razorclaw
Animal forms with Micro-Changers are tough to pull off. They’ve done a decent job with Razorclaw. I love that they went to the effort to include the cloth mane. It really makes him work, though his head really doesn’t look like a lion’s head. Unfortunately, his chest art is covered up in robot mode.
Torax
Tantrum has been renamed Torax. I like his animal mode, and his head looks much better with the horn. Looks good in robot mode and they didn’t cover up his chest art, which is always a plus.
Headlock
Another nice one. Headlock, AKA Headstrong, looks good in bull mode. The horns really make a difference. Very nice in robot mode, and doesn’t have his chest art covered up.
Divebomb
Divebomb looks great in robot mode with his chest art uncovered. Bird mode suffers from wings that are so loose, they droop straight down when you pick him up. It’s just bad design, all the clip on parts should be tighter, but these are particularly bad.
Predaking
These combiners are awesome. They gave him the cannons on his feet just like the original, and unlike the others that have parts to build up the legs, they just left their chest art showing, much like the original. They even put his lion head on his chest and heads on his shoulders. A great G1 homage. The only thing that is a problem, and it is on all the combiners, is the lack of real hands. The Kreon legs aren’t awful, and with Predaking, they use the horns to give him claws (sort of).
Overall: Only Razorclaw has a piece covering up the art on his chest. Probably the weakest set overall, just because the animal modes are only so good. Still not bad for $10-$12. It should also be noted that Rampage is available in the first wave of Micro-Changer blind buys to complete the team.
