I’ve put up reviews of all three new Micro-Change Combiners, Abominus, Defensor, and Piranacon. There are links to those and all my other Kre-O blogs at the end of the review.
Transformers Kre-O Micro-Changers Combiner Defensor (Blades, First Aid, Hot Spot, Streetsmart)
It’s hard to do a Micro-Changer helicopter, but Blades came out pretty well. I just wish his helmet was the same color as his body. It looks odd. Unfortunately they covered up his torso art.
I really like First Aid. They did a great job on him. The art on his chest even matches closely the art on G1 First Aid’s chest, a really nice job.
I love that they included two guns for Hot Spot, just like he had in G1. The vehicle mode came out good. As with First Aid, they did an amazing job on his chest art.
Streetsmart seems to be patterned more after the G2 Streetwise with all the black on him. Still, he looks pretty great in vehicle mode even if the colors are off. I love his robot mode.
I wish they had been able to include the ladder on his back somehow, but that’s a small thing. Defensor looks great, but they should have used something other than the vehicle grill for his lower torso, it just doesn’t look right.
I still can’t believe how awful the stickers for Kre-O Micro-Change Combiners are. They use the clear labels on dark plastic, and you can hardly see the designs on them. It’s just basic logic that you can’t put these kind of stickers on dark plastic. The stupidity of it is mind boggling.
Here are my previous Transformers Kre-O reviews, 2011 sets, and 2012 sets, Micro-Changers Preview Series, Micro-Changers Series One, Series Two, and Series Three, the Toys R Us exclusive Ironhide, Beast Hunters sets Mech Venom Strike, Dragon Assault, Battle Net Bumblebee, Beast Blade Optimus Prime, and Ripclaw Strike, Micro-Changer Combiners, Bruticus, Devastator, Predaking, Superion, Abominus, Defensor, and Piranacon, and the Botcon Machine Wars: Termination Set.
