About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

Blog #53: Movie Review: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

I really thought I was going to love this movie.  I didn’t hate it, but I certainly didn’t love it. First the good.  Gary Oldman was magnificent and should be nominated for best actor (though his not speaking for the … Continue reading

Blog #52: NFL Playoff Round Two Predictions

This blog is going to be short, mainly because three of these games are such easy picks, that there is not much to think about. Saints at 49ers – I would LOVE to pick San Francisco in this game, but … Continue reading

Blog #51: NFL Playoff Round One Predictions

The NFL playoffs will get underway today (in about 30 minutes, actually).  I love football, though I will admit to being no expert.  (I’m still not completely sure where the line between a well defended pass and pass interference is.)  … Continue reading

Blog #50: 2012 Movie Preview!

Okay, here’s my 2012 movie preview.  It looks like a good year for movies.  I likely won’t end up seeing all of these when they are in theaters, but right now I am planning to.  Enjoy. January 13, 2012 Contraband … Continue reading

Blog #49: My 2011 Movie Awards!

Okay, so I had some time today, and thought, I’ve got a preview coming out of next year’s movies, as I did last year, so why not do a summation of everything from this past year?  So, I decided to … Continue reading

Blog #48: Movie Review: Colombiana

I decided to skip Colombiana when it was in theaters.  While I did enjoy it, I don’t regret that decision. Spoilers ahead. Zoe Saldana plays Cataleya.  As a young girl, she witnessed her parent’s brutal execution in Bogota.  She grows … Continue reading

Blog #47: Movie Review: Red Riding Hood

I never did see this one in theaters, but I saw it on television this week.  It was okay.  It could have been better, but could have been worse too.  Starring Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Billy Burke, Shiloh Fernandez, Max … Continue reading

Blog #46: Movie Review: War Horse

While I enjoyed War Horse, I think it is over hyped.  It will likely win Best Picture at the Oscars, but I don’t think it should.  It was well worth seeing though. Lots of major spoilers ahead.  I am literally … Continue reading

Blog #45: Movie Review: The Adventures of Tintin (Great Snakes!)

I must confess, I know nothing about the comic book this movie is based on, so I can’t compare it.  What I can say is that the animation is absolutely incredible…nothing really special there.  Amazing computer animation like this is … Continue reading

Blog #44: Movie Review: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Tom Cruise may be one weird dude, but he’s a hell of an actor.  I enjoyed the first three Mission Impossible Movies.  The first was a worthy successor to the famed television series, but I didn’t enjoy any of them … Continue reading
