About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

Blog #63: My Thoughts on the Super Bowl: “Brady at the Bat”

Brady at the Bat By Lewis M. Brooks, III (With Sincerest Apologies to Ernest Thayer and all the Patriots fans suffering along with me thing morning.) The outlook wasn’t brilliant for the New England team that day. The score stood 21 … Continue reading

Blog #62: Toy Review: TF Bot Shots & Hasbro’s Latest Bonehead Move

Before I get to my Bot Shots review, I must ask a question.  WTF Hasbro! The brilliant minds at Hasbro pulled off yet another in a string of brilliantly idiotic decisions.  Things seemed to be going pretty well at Hasbro … Continue reading

Blog #61: Super Bowl XLVI Predictions

It will come as no surprise that I am picking the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLVI.  However, before I get to the specific predictions, there is one thing I want to mention first. Someone at ESPN is an idiot.  … Continue reading

Blog #60: Movie Review: Underworld: Awakening

First off, this is the best vampire-werewolf movie I’ve seen since Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  (If it wasn’t obvious, that was a shot at the Twilight movies.) This is a great movie, but let’s be honest.  The main reason … Continue reading

Blog #59: Toy Reviews: 2012 Transformers Club Battle Chargers Runamuck & Over-Run? WTF!

The Transformers Club just announced via Twitter that the upcoming club exclusive toy which was to be called Runabout, and was an homage to the original Generation One Battle Charger of the same name, will be called Over-Run because they … Continue reading

Blog #58: Movie Review: “Red Tails” aims high, but falls flat.

I loved the action of this movie, and the special effects in this movie, but it completely lacks the impact of other war movies like Saving Private Ryan and The Bridge on the River Kwai.  In short, go see it … Continue reading

Blog #57: NFL Playoff Round Three, Conference Champions Predictions

Well, after my picks went 3-1 in the first round, I only went 2-2 in the second round.  Really, though, who could have possibly imagined that both the Saints and Packers, the two best teams in the NFC (no offense … Continue reading

Blog #56: Toy Review: Botcon 2012 Metalhawk

Just a little while ago, pictures were released of Botcon 2012 box set Metalhawk.  As I predicted in Blog #55, they used the Thunderwing body with a new human looking head.  I don’t have my G1 Metalhawk handy, but the … Continue reading

Blog #55: Toy Reviews: TF United Stepper, KO Bumblebee Combiner, Botcon 2012 Toys

I have a few Transformers reviews today (as listed in the title) as well as another installment of the Transformers Artifact of the Week. They did a really nice job repainting Jazz as Transformers United Stepper.  It’s a pretty simple … Continue reading

Blog #54: Book Review “The Fault in Our Stars” & 2012 Tour de Nerdfighting

My review of John Green’s “The Fault in Our Stars” comes in two parts, without spoilers and with spoilers.  No worries, if you haven’t read it yet, there will be a clear break between the two.  I don’t want to … Continue reading
