Blog #143: Toy Review: Transformers Prime Deluxe Hot Shot

Transformers Prime Deluxe Hot Shot

Hot Shot uses the Transformer Prime Deluxe Bumblebee mold with a new head.  I am not a huge fan of this mold, the gearing between flipping up his head and folding out his shoulders doesn’t work terribly well.  Since he is not a show character (at least not yet) I assume this was a case of Hasbro needing to use the name Hot Shot, as I don’t think they have used it in quite a while.  I can’t think of any other reason to do him, except of course as an excuse to repaint a toy.

Vehicle Mode: He looks awesome in these colors.  The red and yellow flames on dark blue look so much better than the awful black stripes on yellow of Bumblebee.  Taillights are painted and headlights are translucent blue plastic.  Looks great.

Robot Mode: The new head looks good and is clearly based on Armada Hot Shot.  Like Armada Hot Shot, he has a flip down visor.  His robot mode looks nice, but I would have preferred a brighter red color to the dark red.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
