Vehicle Mode: Alas, poor Skids. I am fairly sure, though I did not actually research it, that no other 1984 G1 toy has received so few updates as Skids, and this is the first time he has ever received an update that even tried to be faithful to the original toy (not including the Masterpiece Skids that was just released). Skids is absolutely awesome in vehicle mode. If I wanted to nitpick, I’d say they really should have painted his hubcaps silver, but I’m not going to be too critical of that.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Skids looks great. He is very G1, though he’s a little bit better proportioned than the G1 toy, which had awfully long legs. While I like his head sculpt, it could have been a little more G1. I wish he had the red fists of the G1. Other than that, he’s pretty darn perfect.

Overall: Skids is an absolute must have.
