Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Deluxe Darkwing

Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.

Blackwing is a remold of Air Raid. They have done a great job on his color scheme and head sculpt. He’s an excellent homage to Darkwing. Unfortunately, the way he is packaged bends his vertical stabilizers, and since they are made of soft plastic, there is really no way to get them back in shape. This is deplorable quality control, but then that’s what we have come to expect from Hasbro. I like that they gave him two guns, like the original, but unfortunately, they are tiny. Not sure what is with the tiny guns in Power of the Primes.

Read my review of Dreadwing, the combined form of Dreadwind and Blackwing here.

Overall: I love this toy, but I would love it more if the QC wasn’t so lousy. I will have to keep an eye out for one whose stabilizers aren’t horribly bent.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
