Blog #525: Toy Review: Transformers Masterpiece Smokescreen

Transformers Masterpiece Smokescreen

Please read my reviews of Masterpiece Prowl and Masterpiece Bluestreak.  This review will focus on the mold and color changes.

I ordered my Masterpiece Smokescreen with the “coin.”  These have been available for most recent Masterpiece toys.  This one is in a cardboard holder that is meant to look like Smokescreen’s hood.

Smokescreen has quite a few mold changes from Bluestreak and Prowl.  He has had the racing spoiler added, and the front bumper remolded to give him the stock car look.  Two ports were added on his hood in front of the windshield to put on his new cannons in vehicle mode.  In robot mode he has a new head, and the fold out cannons have been remolded to hold the detachable cannons.  His shoulders have been completely remolded as well to put the wheels on top of his shoulders like in the cartoon.  He’s got an amazing paint job, I think he’s my favorite of the three.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
