Transformers Masterpiece Streak (Bluestreak)
Please read my review of Masterpiece Prowl. This review will focus on the mold and color changes.
I ordered my Masterpiece Bluestreak (that should be his name) with the “coin.” These have been available for most recent Masterpiece toys. Unlike Masterpiece Prowl, whose coin was clearly a badge, I’m not certain what this is supposed to be, though it will likely be obvious when someone tells me what it is.
Masterpiece Bluestreak has the same additional weapon available from Amazon.com as the one for Masterpiece Prowl (it even comes with the Prowl Instructions).
As to the launcher itself, it does not actually launch, it is just black plastic with the missile part chromed. It looks cool, but I don’t recall Bluestreak ever having a launcher like this in the cartoon. So, it’s neat, but I’m not sure why they created it. Might just be that I’ve forgotten, It’s been a while since I’ve watched the cartoon.
The most obvious change to Bluestreak from Prowl is that he has been repainted. They used Bluestreak’s cartoon black and gray color scheme rather than the all gray toy color scheme or the famous (or infamous if you prefer) blue and silver (I really want this toy in blue and silver). He does look really great in these colors.
There are mold changes as well. Prowl’s light bar has been removed, and Bluestreak’s roof changed into a dual sunroof. There is a flip up part for his gun to plug into. Unfortunately, you have to partially untransform him flip it out. It would have been nice if it could be flipped up while completely in car mode. His car mode is otherwise unchanged. In robot mode, they altered his lower torso. Unfortunately, they left it completely unpainted, so it looks a bit plain. He also has a new head sculpt which looks great.
All in all, he’s a great Bluestreak, and since he doesn’t have the problem with not having the police stripes on his shoulders, I like him better than Prowl.
Thanks for reading!
