At San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that the series of Asia only exclusive Generations toys (at least most of them as it doesn’t look like we are getting the G1 deco Leaders Ironhide and Starscream, while Brawn seems to have been canceled completely) would be coming to Toys R Us this fall. I haven’t seen Voyagers yet, but I’ve seen the rest. I can’t find any significant differences with the Asian versions (accept for a slight paint change on Springer’s sword, but I can’t confirm if it’s a wide change or just a random mistake). I previously reviewed the Legends (Bluestreak, Hoist, Motorbreath, and Thundercracker) and Deluxes (Cliffjumper, Springer, Swerve, and Wheelie) that I picked up from the Asian release. I have just picked up a set of the TRU exclusive Scouts (Brawl, Dead End, Laserbeak, and Sandstorm).
Transformers Generations Scout Brawl
Mold Used: Brawl is repainted with no mold changes from Transformers 2010 Scout Breacher.
Vehicle Mode: I love this vehicle mode. It’s a green tank, the perfect homage for G1 Brawl. It’s an awesome toy. I’ll never understand why Hasbro keeps repainting the so-so or bad toys and doesn’t repaint the truly great ones. It’s a real shame that Hasbro has discontinued the Scout line. I understand that the Cyberverse Commanders have more main characters, but the scout line has had some really great toys.
Robot Mode: I really like this robot mode, but he could have used some more color. I would have used a little bit lighter plastic, maybe red, along with the green, though gray would have been more G1 accurate. Very nice though.
Thanks for reading!
