Blog #163: Toy Review: Asia Exclusive Transformers Generations Legends Bluestreak

At San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that the series of Asia only exclusive Generations toys (at least most of them as it doesn’t look like we are getting Voyager Brawn or the G1 deco Leaders Ironhide and Starscream) are coming to Toys R Us this fall.  However, since I didn’t know that, I did pick up the Legends (Bluestreak, Hoist, Motorbreath, and Thundercracker) and Deluxes (Cliffjumper, Springer, Swerve, and Wheelie).

Transformers Generations Legends Bluestreak

Mold Used: Bluestreak is made from the 2010 Legends Prowl mold with slight remolding.

Vehicle Mode: The color scheme is based on the G1 Bluestreak’s animation model.  It’s really nicely done.  They have added holes in his doors to mount his gun, but the design of the gun makes it only fit on one side.

Robot Mode: The robot mode looks great, and they did a great job making the gun look similar to his G1 gun.  This gun might have been used before as it looks familiar, but I could be wrong.  I kind of wish they had gone all out and given him shoulder mounted missiles and chromed the gun, but that would have been asking way too much.

This toy is well worth getting, but I would wait for the TRU release this fall.  It is short packed only one per case in Asia, and is a little expensive online right now.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

I think I actually like the hoist better than trailbreaker. The color just works on this mold.
