Blog #190: Toy Review: Transformers Kre-O Cycle Chase

Transformers Kre-O Cycle Chase

Please read this blog first with my overall thoughts on the second series of Kre-O sets.

Building Set: For the first time, we have Kre-O sets that are based around the Kreons instead of the building sets.  You can build the little barrier and then either the motorcycle with sidecar or the little walker drone thing.  What’s nice here is that if you build the walker you still have the motorcycle.  It’s not a great set, but it’s the better of the two small sets.

Kreons: This set includes Barricade and three Autobot Troopers.  Barricade has only ever existed in the movie universe, yet his Kreon does not have a movie look to it.  This could be the first appearance of Barricade outside the movie universe.  (And yet…I’m not at all excited by this.  Go figure.)  The Autobot Troopers all use different parts to create unique figures, which is nice.  As always the Kreons are very cool and are the highlight of the set.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

Right you are. I was referring to within the fiction, but even then, I wasn’t thinking about the comics.

Barricade has existed since G1 but he’s such a vague background character no one remembers him.
