Blog #191: Toy Review: Transformers Kre-O Rotor Rage (Vortex)

Transformers Kre-O Cycle Chase

Please read this blog first with my overall thoughts on the second series of Kre-O sets.

Building Set: This is probably the best set of the entire series.  Vortex looks amazing in both robot and helicopter mode.  He has a great head sculpt.  There is very little that Kre-O has done to stand out from Lego, but they did come up with one thing.  They have a very clever design for missile launchers.  I didn’t take a close up picture of them, but you can see them on the side of the helicopter.  It’s really a very cool design.  I haven’t seen anything quite like it in Lego (though I don’t buy that many Lego sets).

Kreons: The Kreon Vortex is very cool.  It uses Soundwave’s head adding the rotor on the back (and all in different colors of course).  This is one of my favorite Kreons from both series.  There are also two humans.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
