Transformers Artifact of the Week: Transformers Optimum Collection Trading Card Set
I haven’t done a Transformers Artifact of the Week in a while, so I thought I’d do at least two this week. (Click here for the Transformers Dark of the Moon Trading Card Set.)
The Transformers Optimum Collection Trading card set by Enterplay released through Breygent Marketing was originally announced at San Diego Comic Con 2012 when several autographed cards were available, but the set was not actually released until spring of 2013. The cards are extremely high quality, and includes a base set, several insert sets, variant autographs, costume, and prop cards. There are also quite a few promo cards, some of which are numbered to as low as 99 copies, as well as very rare sketch and comic panel cards.
The photos of the three Leonard Nimoy autographs below are not from my collection. The SDCC 2012 Nimoy card came in two versions. A regular one numbered to 45 and a special “Prime” version numbered “1 Prime” to “7 Prime” was also available at the show, though I am not sure how. The regular autograph set includes a Nimoy autograph numbered out of 90. I don’t bother collect insert sets that are so rare that they cannot be completed like the sketch and comic panel cards, but I do have one from each set in my collection pictured below.
Not much else to say about these. Pictures and notes are below.

Foil Puzzle Promo Set (Fronts and Backs – It should be noted that this set was included with the binder for the 2011 Enterplay Transformers Dark of the Moon Dog Tag Set. I have seen it listed as part of the set and it does use the same card design so I have included it.)

Hello,
I know that this article was written over 10 years ago but I recently purchased one of the Leonard Nimoy Breygent Sentinal Prime autograph cards and I am having questions about the numbering on it.
Quoted in the article, ” A regular one numbered to 45 and a special “Prime” version numbered “ 1 Prime ” to “ 7 Prime ” was also available at the show, though I am not sure how. ”
The card that I have has what appears to be a piece of paper where the ” ## of ## ” should be that states ” Prime 9 “. There is a Breygent sticker on the top of the sleeve but that doesn’t mean that someone could have accessed the card and modified it in any manner.
Can someone please help me out? I want to send the card to Beckett for authentication, grading and encapsulation but really do not want them to tell me anything negative about the card. So if anyone has any information that they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
V/r,
Jason C.
Hi there, do you if there’s a forum (or something like that) to find other collectors to trade these “Dark of the Moon” cards? Thanks!
David, I saw the dealer promo come up on ebay today. Here si the link, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Optimum-DP-Dealer-Promo-Card-137-199-/380778459231?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58a82a305f
Thanks,
Lewis
I don’t know of any running right now, but if I see one, I’ll post a reply here.
Do you have links to any of those ebay auctions ? I thought I had everything on this Transformers set. I never knew this promo existed
David, I found it on ebay. I haven’t been looking for a while, but I did see them a number of times.
Where did you come across that Transformers dealer promo, the one limited to 199 ? I have never seen it before
