Transformers: EarthSpark Deluxe Class Megatron

Vehicle Mode: Megatron’s vehicle mode looks awesome, but it has an enormous flaw. He’s supposed to be something like a V-22 Osprey, in the series it clearly shows his engines can tilt like an Osprey. The toy has no tilting engines. This almost feels like the toy designers and animators weren’t on the same page. Does that make the toy a failure, no, but its such a basic part of the design, it would be like making him a tank and not including the gun barrel. Not that I would put that past Hasbro either. His colors are great.

Robot Mode: In robot mode, I do not like Megatron’s head sculpt. It’s pretty accurate to the cartoon, but I don’t like that either. Otherwise he looks great, except for those panels on his forearms. I would have much preferred those fold around onto the backs of his arms. His gun has to plug into one, which I don’t like either. If they were solidly on his forearms, I wouldn’t mind so much, but they stick out from his arms and look weird.

Overall: Megatron is okay, but I was hoping for better.
