Blog #2039: Toy Review: Transformers: Generations: Retro Headmasters Deluxe Class Brainstorm

Transformers: Generations: Retro Headmasters Deluxe Class Brainstorm

A few words about the box. It’s gorgeous. A beautiful G1 box complete with box flap. When I saw pictures, I was thrilled that they were finally reissuing the G1 Headmasters! Then I realized what was actually in the boxes, and I was distinctively less excited. Having said that, at least they are repainted and not the same toys in new boxes.

Hasbro used the G1 toy accurate heads from the Transformers: Legends line, but they used the more G1 accurate paint jobs.

Previous Mold Use: San Diego Comic Con 2016 Deluxe Class Brainstorm, Titans Return Deluxe Class Brainstorm, Takara Legends Deluxe Class Brainstorm

Brainstorm looks great. He’s not completely G1 accurate. In vehicle mode he has more dark gray on him than the G1 toy, but I really like it. He uses the Legends head with a more G1 accurate paintjob.

Overall: If you have this mold and aren’t a completist, then you can probably skip Brainstorm, unless you just want to display him in the awesome box.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
