Blog #1836: Toy Review: Transformers: Kre-O Kreon Hound

Transformers: Kre-O Kreon Hound

Back in, I think it was 2011, a Hound Kreon showed up at Toy Fair and other conventions, but was ever released anywhere. It was assumed he was meant to be included in a larger building set that was cancelled. Just recently I learned that some of these Hounds later showed up in plastic bags. I picked one up on eBay.

There were some other Kreon Hounds released, but none that looked like this one. Above I’ve got him pictured with the Hound from the SDCC 2014 Class of 1984 Kreon set. He was also released as part of the second wave of Custom Kreons. That was the wave that never made it to the USA.

Overall: I kind of wish Hasbro would keep Kre-O alive. Not with large expensive building sets, but stuff like the Custom Kreons, Micro Changers, and Warriors. They are fun, and you can do an awful lot with them. They just need to make them easier to get.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
