Transformers: Bumblebee: Energon Igniters Power Series Wave 1 (Bumblebee, Dropkick, Hot Rod, Megatron)
Energon Igniters Nitro Series and Energon Igniters Power Plus Series toys come with an Energon Core that can be used to propel Nitro Series, Power Plus Series, Power Series, and Speed Series toys. They also deploy weapons on all but the Speed Series. Energon Cores are interchangeable.
Bumblebee
Previous Mold User: Transformers: Bumblebee: Energon Igniters Power Plus Series Bumblebee
Vehicle Mode: Bumblebee’s windows aren’t all painted. Typical Hasbro. Doesn’t look bad though. Looks pretty cool with the weapons deployed. There are only minor mold differences from the Power Plus Series version. They have remolded the flip out cannons.
Robot Mode: His robot mode is doesn’t look terrible if you ignore the giant yellow slab of plastic its mounted on. Unfortunately, that can’t be ignored. This version has a battle helmet head sculpt.
Dropkick
Vehicle Mode: I like Dropkick’s vehicle mode, especially the Decepticon logo on crossed bones logo on his rear fender. I can’t say I love his pop out weapons. They look more like afterburners pointed the wrong direction than cannons. His only mold difference from Hot Rod in vehicle mode is the exposed engine on his hood.
Robot Mode: Dropkick’s robot mode isn’t very good. His chest, head, torso, and legs are remolded from Hot Rod.
Hot Rod
Vehicle Mode: I love Hot Rod’s vehicle mode. The paint job is great, and I love the flame logo on his hood. In vehicle mode his only difference from Dropkick is the lack of the exposed engine on his hood.
Robot Mode: Hot Rod’s robot mode isn’t great, but the paint job on his chest helps. His chest, head, torso, and legs are remolded from Dropkick.
Megatron
Vehicle Mode: Megatron’s tank mode isn’t bad. It isn’t great either. I like the colors and paint apps. The flip out wings are a little too small.
Robot Mode: In robot mode Megatron is pretty awful.
Overall: The Energon Igniter feature doesn’t really do much for me. I’d have rather seen the action features built right into the toys. Having said that, they are pretty average for a movie toy line.
