At San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that the series of Asia only exclusive Generations toys (at least most of them as it doesn’t look like we are getting the G1 deco Leaders Ironhide and Starscream, while Brawl seems to have been canceled completely) would be coming to Toys R Us this fall. I can’t find any significant differences with the Asian versions (accept for a slight paint change on Springer’s sword, but I can’t confirm if it’s a wide change or just a random production Error). I previously reviewed the Legends (Bluestreak, Hoist, Motorbreath, and Thundercracker), Deluxes (Cliffjumper, Springer, Swerve, and Wheelie), and Scouts (Brawl, Dead End, Laserbeak, and Sandstorm). The Voyagers have been very hard to find in stores, and I have just recently acquired Hot Spot, Megatron, and Powerdive.
Transformers Generations Voyager Powerdive
Mold Used: Powerdive is repainted from Transformers 2010 Voyager Highbrow with a new head.
Vehicle Mode: The plane mode is loosely based on a World War 2 era Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter. They seem to have started with that and then turned the cockpit around so that the main fuselage is between the fuselages instead of out in front of the plane. I absolutely love this mold. The paint job is perfect for G2 Powerdive.
Robot Mode: Awesome! He should be repainted over and over. This is a perfect Homage to Powerdive. The only problem is those weird forearms, but that’s a minor thing.
Overall: Love the mold. Love G2 homage toys. The best of the assortment, bar none.
