At San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that the series of Asia only exclusive Generations toys (at least most of them as it doesn’t look like we are getting Voyager Brawn or the G1 deco Leaders Ironhide and Starscream) are coming to Toys R Us this fall. However, since I didn’t know that, I did pick up the Legends (Bluestreak, Hoist, Motorbreath, and Thundercracker) and Deluxes (Cliffjumper, Springer, Swerve, and Wheelie).
Transformers Generations Deluxe Wheelie
Mold Used: Wheelie is made from the Transformers 2010 Deluxe Jazz mold with a new head and new slingshot accessory.
Vehicle Mode: This is not my favorite mold. I’ve never really liked it. It does seem the best one to use for Wheelie though, and they have done an impressive job painting him. It’s certainly better than G1 Wheelie, one of the worst Transformers toys ever.
Robot Mode: The new head is really well done and the great paintjob carries over to the robot mode. His new slingshot accessory was cleverly designed with a peg on the side so it can still be stored under the car. I kind of wished they had molded in the pocket and elastic as part of the slingshot instead of just the Y shaped frame, but it’s still clear what it is supposed to be, so I can’t complain too much.
Overall: It’s nice to have a really good Wheelie toy, even if it did take over twenty-five years. He’s well worth getting.
Thanks for reading!

@Armchair warrior needs food badly,
Well, the third party toy looks really great, but I collect very few third party items. So, I would say get this one, but that’s me.
I hate to ask… but if you had a choice between that 50$ third-party toy (which is made of diecast, is bigger than this deluxe, looks like the animated version of wheelie in both robot and vehicle mode, and sports superior articulation)… would you still choose this toy just because it’s ‘official’?
I’m starting to think that third party toys are the way to go. I can’t be the only one.
