At San Diego Comic Con it was revealed that the series of Asia only exclusive Generations toys (at least most of them as it doesn’t look like we are getting Voyager Brawn or the G1 deco Leaders Ironhide and Starscream) are coming to Toys R Us this fall. However, since I didn’t know that, I did pick up the Legends (Bluestreak, Hoist, Motorbreath, and Thundercracker) and Deluxes (Cliffjumper, Springer, Swerve, and Wheelie).
Transformers Generations Deluxe Cliffjumper
Mold Used: Cliffjumper is made from the Transformers Prime First Edition Deluxe Cliffjumper mold with a new head.
Vehicle Mode: Cliffjumper is a little darker red (to my memory, I don’t have access to my FE Cliffjumper at the moment) than First Edition Cliffjumper. Other than that, he’s essentially the same toy in vehicle mode.
Robot Mode: The new G1 style head looks great, much better than the original head this toy was produced with. One thing I am curious about. We know that Hasbro has been producing toys with a second head as part of the mold for a while now. I’m curious if this head is new or was included in the original mold and not used. Not sure we’ll ever be able to find out about that.
Overall: I really love new toys based on classic characters, and I don’t mind at all that he isn’t even vaguely close to the original Cliffjumper’s vehicle mold. This is a great one.
Thanks for reading!

It’s always interesting to me to see which molds are coming out at which time – if we see the car show up in april in one place, we know it will be a fall release somewhere else 🙂
