Blog #2212: Toy Review: Transformers: Dinobot Adventures Dinobot Strikers (Slag, Sludge, Snarl, Swoop)

Transformers: Dinobot Adventures Dinobot Strikers (Slag, Sludge, Snarl, Swoop)

Dinobot Adventures seems to be a filler line using Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy repaints to fill the gap until whatever new series replaces Rescue Bots Academy.

Slag

Previous Mold Use: Rescue Bots Dinobots Boulder

Slag looks awesome. The metallic silver and metallic gold paint look awesome on his dinosaur head. In dinosaur mode he has an action feature. If you push down on his head his head tips forward. In robot mode he looks absolutely nothing like Slag, but that’s to be expected since these are repainted Rescue Bots toys.

Sludge

Previous Mold Use: Rescue Bots Dinobots Heatwave

Sludge looks great. I love the gold. He has a button on his back, When you press it, his head bends down. In robot mode he looks okay, certainly better than Slag, but that’s not saying much.

Snarl

Previous Mold Use: Rescue Bots Dinobots Chase

Snarl looks fantastic, he is my favorite of the bunch. When you press down on his spikes, his tail goes up and down. His robot mode is not great, but isn’t quite as bad as Slag, though it’s a very low bar.

Swoop

Previous Mold Use: Rescue Bots Dinobots Blades

Swoop could have used some more paint apps on his wings, but he looks pretty good. Pressing a switch on his back makes his wings flap. Blades probably looks best in robot mode.

Overall: I love these guys. I’ve been searching for them forever and finally they came up on Entertainment Earth. There is one Dinobot Adventures toy I have yet to track down, the electronic Optimus Primal.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
