Blog #2128: Toy Review: Transformers: Generations: Shattered Glass Voyager Class Megatron

Transformers: Generations: Shattered Glass Voyager Class Megatron

The Ghost of Fun Pub still haunts us. Each Shattered Glass toy came with an exclusive comic giving them an excuse to overcharge for these toys. All were $9-$12 over retail for a $5 comic. These should have just been done as Selects without the comics for retail price.

Megatron

I’ve included a picture of Megatron in tank mode and a comparison pic, however, he is not shown in his instructions in tank mode, so that is not an official mode. His only official vehicle mode is as a jet. His jet mode looks like a robot has been folded into a brick and wings and a cockpit were added, because that’s exactly what it is. He actually looks really great in robot mode though. I love the colors. His instructions do not show his cannon on his vehicle mode. There is a way you can do it, but again, that’s not official.

Overall: Is it the worst thing Hasbro has ever done? No. Could they have done it better? Absolutely. Honestly, just leaving him as a tank would have been a better idea. Putting a Megatron head on Jetfire would have also been a better idea.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
