Transformers: Generations: Shattered Glass Deluxe Class Goldbug

The Ghost of Fun Pub still haunts us. Each Shattered Glass toy came with an exclusive comic giving them an excuse to overcharge for these toys. All were $9-$12 over retail for a $5 comic. These should have just been done as Selects without the comics for retail price.

I realize there is some contractual thing that makes it so they can only use the VW Bug mold for Bumblebee, but why not just call this Gold Bug Bumblebee and use the right mold? Having said that, the mold looks great in these colors, and I like the new head sculpt.

Overall: He’s the wrong mold and he was $10 over retail because of the exclusive comic. I hate this. I am sure someone will point out that the original Botcon mold was also not a VW Bug, but that’s because they didn’t have one available. In any case, Gold Bug was a VW, so him not being one in Shattered Glass is stupid. It was when the original came out, and still is now.
