Transformers: The Movie: Studio Series Deluxe Class Kup

The Transformers: The Movie Studio Series toys are clearly meant to be part of the third part of the War For Cybertron Trilogy. Presumably Hasbro decided to put them in Studio Series so they could shoehorn Beast Wars in rather than doing a separate line for the 25th anniversary of Beast Wars. If they couldn’t give Beast Wars it’s own line, including an additional wave in the Kingdom line would have made more sense.

Vehicle Mode: I love the design, but I don’t know what happened with Kup’s paintjob. I don’t think it is actually based on the movie, at least not to my recollection or the pictures I just looked at. The top of his vehicle mode should be the same color as the majority of the body, not the color of his fenders, and his windshield should be lighter blue. Not sure why they couldn’t paint him more accurately. Having said that, he looks great, just not accurate.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Kup looks pretty great. Colors seem much more accurate.

Overall: Even with the vehicle mode paintjob, Kup is really good.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
