Transformers: Generations: Earthrise Voyager Class Megatron
Megatron

Hasbro has really stepped up their remolding. They have phoned in some remolds, but Megatron is a work of art. You can see they are clearly the same base mold, but he is now completely transformed (pun intended) from a Cybertronian tank to an earth tank, and he looks fantastic. They’ve turned his two separate treads into a single tread, and a panel now closes up the space behind and beneath his turret. They’ve made his turret look like a real tank and simplified the barrel. Best of all they’ve given him the number D16, which was G1 Megatron’s ID number in the original Transformers toyline in Japan. Clearly when they want to, Hasbro is conscious of Transformers history. Pity they don’t do that more. In robot mode his legs are new, as well as his abdomen, which now better matches the G1 animation. His new sword is shorter, and mounts on the side of his arm. He has a new head sculpt that I like a lot more than the original. In fact, I think I prefer this version overall.
Overall: Megatron is pretty awesome, and a must have. I just hope we can get one in metallic silver.
Thanks for reading!
All of them. 🙂
Great comparisons. The tank mode looks better, but how many Megatrons must we buy?!
