Transformers Artifact of the Week: Transformers: Bumblebee Home Video Promotional Kit with VHS Cassette
To promote the release of Transformers: Bumblebee on DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital, Paramount produced some copies on VHS for promotional purposes. I managed to get my hands on one.
I still have a VCR plugged in and sitting under my television, and I have no plans to remove it. I did not try to play it, as this cassette was VERY expensive, and the last time I tried to use the VCR, it ate the tape. I think the problem was actually with the old tape, but it’s not worth the risk just two watch it on VHS. The movie wasn’t that good anyway. (All hail, Michael Bay!) This cassette was well worth buying though. That “Bee Kind, Please Rewind” sticker with Bumblebee’s face on it is perfect. I miss VHS. Picture quality is overrated.
Separately I also purchased the promotional packet Paramount sent out (I assume) to retailers to promote the movie on home video. It all came bundled in a really nice folder with DVD cover art on the front.
Included in the packet is four color photos from the movie. The majority of the packet is literature. There two three page stapled packets, followed by a forty-five page packet. You can see those scans below. As always, you can find over 17,000 Transformers artifacts (recently updated) from every Transformers series and generation at TFMuseum.com.
