Transformers: Studio Series Voyager Sentinel Prime

Sentinel Prime

Vehicle Mode: Like many Studio Series toys, I’ve had a hell of a time getting all the panels that make up the side of the vehicle to line up on both side. There is a separation you can’t see, it’s on the far side of the toy. I’m sure if I fought with it for another hour I could get it right, but I don’t want to spend an hour doing that. That issue aside, Sentinel Prime looks fantastic in vehicle mode, though its not a very movie accurate that paintjob. The arm for his water cannon should have been silver. The railings on top and most of the top of the vehicle should have been silver too. Lot’s of other small paint apps are missing. Great design for the vehicle, but as usual, Hasbro failed to follow through on the paint job, at least in vehicle mode.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Sentinel Prime is pretty darn perfect. I absolutely love his face sculpt. I can’t say enough about him.

Overall: I haven’t had my hands on any of the Dark of the Moon Sentinel Primes in a long time, so it’s hard to compare, but having looked at some photos, some of them might have had better vehicle paintjobs, but this is a far better design in all other respects.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
