Blog #1738: Toy Review: Transformers Masterpiece Movie Megatron

Transformers Masterpiece Movie Megatron

AllSpark

Megatron includes an AllSpark that can be pushed into his chest.

Megatron

Vehicle Mode: I wish they had skipped movie and Revenge of the Fallen Megatron and gone right to Dark of the Moon for a Masterpiece Megatron. While he looks great in robot mode, his alternate modes in the first two movies suck. Both are just, let’s create a cool robot and fold it into something vaguely resembling a recognizable vehicle. I guess it is pretty accurate. Unfortunately Megatron has way too much soft plastic. His upper wing fins were bent to hell right out of the box.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Megatron looks pretty great. He has a hinged jaw, though that hardly feels necessary. He has accessories to simulate some of his weapons from the movie.

Overall: I expect more for $160 than soft plastic parts bent in the box. If you like Megatron’s movie design, you will probably love this. I just can’t get too excited.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
