Blog #1581: Toy Reviews: Transformers Takara Metal Figure Collection

These have apparently been coming out for a few years, but I only recently became aware of them. They are die-cast metal figures with plastic parts. They have limited articulation and very detailed paintjobs.

Optimus Prime (Dark of the Moon)

Optimus Prime comes with a sword. He looks very cool

Bumblebee (Dark of the Moon)

Bumblebee is a hefty figure. He’s got some weight to him. There is a lot of detail in the mold. His cannon arm looks great. I love the paintjob. Great figure.

Bumblebee (The Last Knight)

The Last Knight Bumblebee is nicely painted, but I do not like the design anywhere near as much as Dark of the Moon Bumblebee.

Sqweeks

Sqweeks looks awesome! He’s such a cool figure. Paint apps are great.

Optimus Prime (Age of Extinction) Regular and “King” Version

Optimus Prime looks pretty great in his Age of Extinction (and The Last Knight) robot mode. He’s got great paint apps. A very cool figure. The “King” version has a metallic paintjob.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
