Transformers: Bumblebee Tiny Turbo Changers Series 1 (Barricade, Bumblebee, Aldo, Drift, Evac, Ironhide, Lockdown, Silver Knight Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Sentinel Prime, Slug, Sky Rage Starscream)

Barricade

I’m not sure if this Barricade is based on his pre-The Last Knight design or on his design from the upcoming Bumblebee movie. He is one of the better painted toys in the line. That’s not saying much, but it’s something.

Bumblebee

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Target Exclusive Reveal the Shield 3-Pack Bumblebee, The Last Knight Bumblebee, The Last Knight Knight Strike Bumblebee

For the third series of Tiny Turbo Changers in a row we’ve got Bumblebee virtually unchanged. Oh wait, they are different. They made a minor alteration to how they painted his tires. The front tires no longer have the yellow circle in the middle, and in robot mode the surfaces of his tires are painted. Big deal. I am pretty sure I have been mistransforming him. These toys are so meh, it’s kind of hard to even care.

Aldo

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Hot Rod

Aldo is a repaint of Hot Rod with just as few paint apps. Looks like crap.

Drift

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Drift

This version of Drift looks much better than the red one that made no sense since he was predominantly black in The last Knight.

Evac

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Crosshairs

I don’t know why they called him Evac when the blue Crosshairs from Age of Extinction was called Hot Shot. They probably needed to update the trademark on the name Evac. Too bad they didn’t bother to paint his eyes blue.

Ironhide

Ironhide is pretty cool. Since he’s supposed to be a black truck, the lack of paint apps doesn’t really hurt him the way it does others. Not bad.

Lockdown

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Lockdown

Lockdown is now translucent gray. They didn’t even bother paint his face green and tires black. It’s like Hasbro is trying to prove they can even do less than the minimum and get away with it.

Silver Knight Optimus Prime

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Target Exclusive Reveal the Shield 3-Pack Optimus Prime, The Last Knight Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is now in his Silver Knight paint job from Age of Extinction.

Ratchet

Ratchet would look very cool if he was properly painted. As is he looks stupid.

Sentinel Prime

Like Ratchet, with some paint apps, Sentinel Prime would look pretty cool. As is he looks stupid. At least they painted his face and chest.

Slug

Slug looks pretty good in dino mode, though he has never been in these colors, so he makes little sense. Robot mode needs some paint apps. What else is new?

Sky Rage Starscream

Previous Mold Use: The Last Knight Sky Camo Starscream, The Last Knight Starscream

Three Starscreams instead of just giving us Skywarp and Thundercracker. Hell, one of them could have been Thundercracker without changing the colors.

Overall: I hate these. Hasbro does such a piss poor job painting them. I would pay more for them if they were painted right. Hell, I’d even buy a box set of all of them painted properly.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
