Blog #1505: Toy Review: Transformers: Movie the Best Voyager Hound

Transformers: Movie the Best Voyager Hound

When I first saw the announcement of a tenth anniversary Transformers movie toyline in Japan called “Movie the Best” I assumed that was a bad translation. I mean, really, how stupid a name is “Movie the Best”? Apparently not stupid enough for that to be the actual name of the line. In any case, I’m only getting the toys with mold changes or added weapons.

Hound

Movie the Best Hound is a repainted The Last Knight Voyager Hound without his weapons, and with a new shield/vehicle back and the weapons from Age of Extinction Hound (except for his knife). Movie the Best Hound has darker green plastic than the USA version. Many paint apps are different, but both look great. I love the back of the vehicle. It looks great, much better than the USA version. All the weapons, except for the big one can fit inside the back of the truck. The large weapon plugs in on the right side of the vehicle. In robot mode he can hold all the weapons, but he can’t hold them properly. The weapons were designed for Age of Extinction Voyager Hound, whose hands were angled forward. The weapon handles were not vertical, but slanted. Since The Last Knight Hound’s hands have standard vertical hand ports, the weapons point up at an angle in his hands.

Overall: The new shield completely changes his vehicle mode, so I think Hound is a must have.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
