Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Leader Class Rodimus Prime

Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.

Hot Rod

Vehicle Mode: Hot Rod’s vehicle mode is not as good as Classics or even Titans return Hot Rod, but it is a pretty cool looking toy.

Robot Mode: Hot Rod’s robot mode is very cool. Again, not as good as previous Hot Rods, but nice looking. He’s got great paint apps and I like the head sculpt.

Rodimus Prime

Vehicle Mode: When I first saw pictures of it, I was not at all happy with Rodimus Prime’s vehicle mode. Having it in hand, it has grown on me. It’s not perfect. His cab should not be the same shape as Hot Rod and his hood extends out a little too far, but it’s not bad looking.

Robot Mode: If you look at him straight on, Rodimus Prime doesn’t look too bad in robot mode. Unfortunately, if you look from the side, his head is sitting in front of his shoulders. It just looks off. It’s not terrible, but he clearly needed some more design work. His chest opens up to reveal the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. It is a square piece like the other Voyagers and Leaders come with, with a frame around it.

Overall: This is a perfect use of the evolution feature of Power of the Primes Leader Class toys, unfortunately, Rodimus Prime’s robot mode was very poorly designed.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
