Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Leader Class Optimus Prime

Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.

Orion Pax

Orion Pax is pretty cool. He has great paint apps. I love the head sculpt. The only problem is that he does not have a vehicle mode. He transformers in to Optimus Prime’s cab, but does not have an Orion Pax vehicle mode.

Optimus Prime

Vehicle Mode: Optimus Prime’s vehicles mode is not great. The front half of the cab is fine, but the back half does not look like the cab of a truck, but what it is, folded up robot parts. His trailer is okay. I don’t like the red on the top, but if that’s gray, then his arms aren’t the right color. This is a really poor design. You have parts that need to be different colors in different modes. His vehicle mode is significantly inferior to Titans Return Leader Class Optimus Prime.

Robot Mode: The other shortcomings of this toy aside, in robot mode Optimus Prime looks amazing. It would have been nice if the sides of his chest were red instead of gray, but as previously mentioned, the design makes this impossible. Still, he looks great. His chest opens up to reveal the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. It is a square piece like the other Voyagers and Leaders come with, with a frame around it.

Overall: His robot mode is awesome, his vehicle mode isn’t great, and Orion Pax has no vehicle mode. Not one of Hasbro’s best.

I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
