Blog #1413: Toy Review: Transformers: Legends Deluxe Doublecross, Headmaster White Leo, and Targetmaster Haywire

Transformers: Legends Deluxe Doublecross, Headmaster White Leo, and Targetmaster Haywire

Legends Deluxe Twinferno is repainted and remolded from Transformers: Generations Deluxe Twinferno. Headmaster White Leo is repainted from Titan Master Daburu. He comes with a new mold Targetmaster. Read my review of the USA Twinferno & Daburu here.

Titan Master White Leo

I must not have taken a very close look at Daburu, because I didn’t notice that he was molded to have an eye patch. Of course, Hasbro’s failure to paint it made it look like crap. White Leo looks pretty great. He is based on a Beastformer, known in the USA as a Battle Beast. Pretty cool idea, if poorly executed by Hasbro. The Japanese version’s paintjob is awesome. It is interesting to note that many of these Titan Masters do not have their own names in Japan.

Haywire

Haywire is awesome. I love these new Targetmasters. Haywire, you might recall, is the name of Blurr’s Targetmaster partner, but for some reason, they decided to release him with Doublecross instead. If they were going to release a Targetmaster for Blurr, they really should have done it with Blurr. Still a great looking toy. Since there was no logical way to mount him onto Doublecross’s dragon mode, they added a port on his abdomen. This also gives Haywire a third mode in order to point forward.

Doublecross

Doublecross looks so much better than Twinferno (who didn’t look bad to begin with). His light gray and black have been replaced with dark gray. His white plastic is a little brighter and his read a hair darker. His eyes are slightly darker blue, and his red dragon eyes have been replaced with blue. A really nice touch is the painting of his dragon horns silver. The saw blade on his dragon chest is now painted white. The door on his abdomen is now clear and remolded with a port, as this is where White Leo goes when Doublecross is in Dragon mode. Twinferno had Daburu sitting on his guns on his back.

Overall: This is a superior paint job and Targetmaster Haywire is great. If you’re only going to get one of this mold, go with this one.

Thanks for reading!

I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
