Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Legends Wave 1 (Beachcomber, Skrapnel, Slash, Windcharger)
Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.
Beachcomber
Beachcomber is awesome. I love his dune buggy mode. The bars do come apart so you can put a Titan Master or Prime Master inside. His head sculpt is absolutely perfect as is the molding on his chest. They really did a great job on Beachcomber.
Skrapnel
Read my review of the original version of Skrapnel here. This time he does not come with his partner, Reflector. Hasbro stated that this version was unchanged from the original release, so of course he is different. This is the same thing that happened with Cosmos. This new version of Skrapnel has lighter purple plastic and lighter yellow paint.
Slash
Slash is pretty cool in dinosaur mode. I like her robot mode as well. What I don’t understand is how why they made a Dinobot that wasn’t capable of being part of the Dinobot combiner. They could have had her turn into a weapon or something. It makes little sense to have a random Dinobot that doesn’t combine.
Windcharger
Windcharger is perfect. I love his car mode. Is robot mode is perfect. He’s got a great head sculpt. I love that they gave him the sunroofs like the G1 toy. You can put a Titan Master of Prime Master inside him.
Overall: Beachcomber and Windcharger are must haves. I love Slash, but it really annoys me that she can’t combine with the rest of the Dinobots. Skrapnel is for completists only.
Thanks for reading!
Beachcomber and Windcharger are maybe the only figures that I like about PoP so far. Why? Because they looks good in both modes and because are the toys that we would wanted in the ’80. Faithful look and good posability but more important, no damned forced gimmicks that their characters never had.
Slash seems a little cool robot, but as a very minor complain if is a “she” they could made her a little more feminine, at least in the face.
