Transformers: The Last Knight Toy Reviews

Barricade

Barricade looks okay in car mode.  His feet are sticking out the back of the vehicle mode, but we’ve seen worse one step toys.  His robot mode needed more paint apps.

Bumblebee

Bumblebee is a repaint of AOE One Step Changer Bumblebee.  At least the AOE version had some paint on his legs.

Hound

I like the design of Hound’s vehicle mode, and his big hulking robot mode.  If only he had a few more paint apps.  I’m not asking for high detail on a one step toy, but he looks like a freaking prototype.  They couldn’t even be bothered to paint his windows?  That’s pathetic.  They could have at least used green plastic for his chest and shoulders.

Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is a repaint of AOE One Step Changer Optimus Prime.  It’s essentially the same paint job except for the chest, they just used darker red paint.  They also appear to have used slightly lighter gray plastic, though that could just be the photo.

Overall: Barricade is fine I guess.  Hound is actually a really good design, but looks like crap with the tan plastic and unpainted windows.  It hurts me to recommend either.  The repaints are for completists only.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
