When I first heard about these, I thought they were deluxe toys.  The Autobots are completely new molds of approximately Scout size.  They are paired with standard size Mini-Cons, which makes no sense at all.  Both are spherical and meant to be used with Deployers Overload and the upcoming Crazybolt.

Bludgeon

Bludgeon looks like a ball with arms and legs.  He transforms into a ball with some spikes.  Really, Hasbro?

Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is pretty cool.  He definitely lacks needed paint apps in vehicle mode, but it’s a nice mold.  Robot mode is the better of the two, but the armor does nothing for me.  His combined weapon looks like a hammer for Ultra Magnus, so I guess we know what he will be repainted into.

Anvil

Anvil looks sort of bat-like in robot mode.  He has a pretty cool head sculpt, he’s definitely the better of the two.  His alternate mode is a ball with a few spikes on it.  Really, Hasbro?  I think I said that already, but it bears repeating.

Sideswipe

In vehicle mode, Sideswipe’s feet don’t quite fold down all the way into the car roof, but other than that, he looks great.  Robot mode is pretty good as well.  As with Optimus Prime, I’m not impressed with the armor, and his combined weapon looks ridiculous.

Overall: I really don’t like these Mini-Con Battle Packs.  Mini-Cons are supposed to be in scale with Deployers, who are about Deluxe size.  This makes them completely out of scale with these toys.  The armor and combined weapons are silly looking.  They should have packaged Mini-Cons with Deluxe repaints.  Also, the Mini-Cons have ports for weapons like regular Mini-Cons, but don’t come with any armor.  These just aren’t very good.
