Read my reviews of Alpha Bravo, Firefly (Fireflight), Powerglide, Silverbolt, Skydive, and Superion.

Vehicle Mode: Air Raid’s vehicle mode is awesome.  They did a great job with the striping on his wings and vertical stabilizers.  He’s perfect.  The G1 was always my favorite Aerialbot toy, and they really did him justice.

Robot Mode: His robot mode coloring is perfect.  I love the head sculpt.  I’m not crazy about his wings turned up behind him (you could leave them down, but that’s not the way he is in the instructions).  Problem is that his jet nose sticks up so far, it does look better with the wings up than down.

Overall: Easily my favorite of the Aerialbot limbs.  A definite must.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

Michaelwpollard, well it’s sort of cool, but now we don’t get trading cards anymore, and they will be releasing Wave 1 with comics in May. They should have just waited for the comics to begin with.

I think the wing change is more about his robot mode, so they can be pivoted up, but yes, it is different, They could repaint him into a Skystriker.

  3. Cool, they’re including the comics with them now. Also interesting they changed Air Raid’s vehicle mode, making him with (if I’m seeing it right) variable wing geometry like Jetfire.
