Transformers: Movie Advanced Voyager Rusty Evasion Mode Optimus Prime

This looks really cool in vehicle mode.  I almost canceled my preorder for this after it was revealed that Hasbro would be releasing one as part of the upcoming Breakout Battle set, but Hasbro has a habit of screwing these things up (which they have).  I’m glad I didn’t, as this one has a new face, which I did not realize it would have.  This one has the faceplate instead of a mouth.  Unfortunately, as good as Takara’s versions is, his head should be blue not white.  I know this is due to how the toy is molded, but they could have painted it.  His head should be blue as it was in the movie, and this looks wrong.  Other than that though it’s a really nice looking toy and far better painted to be the “rusty” version than Hasbro’s appears to be.

Overall: I have to recommend it, if for no other reason than it looks better than the Hasbro version, and it’s the colors he always should have been in.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
