Blog #413: Toy Review: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Megatron

Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Megatron

Vehicle Mode: Megatron has been so heavily remolded, that he is nearly unrecognizable.  He’s been done in G1 Sharkticon colors and looks great.  Also he has teeth on the front of the vehicle, another homage to Gnaw.  My only major complaint is that his gun has such a long peg on it that it sticks way up over the vehicle.  The gun also kind of looks like a fish which is a bit odd.  I’m still not a huge fan of the way his shoulders don’t lock in place in vehicle mode.

Robot Mode: I think I actually like this toy more than the original Voyager Megatron.  Admittedly, a lot of that is that I really didn’t like that toy.  While it clearly doesn’t look like a Megatron toy, it does look great in these colors, and I love the shark/monster/fish/whatever torso.  His gun unfolds into a sword.  It’s a really unique design.  As you unfold it, you fold down the handle of the gun and use it to keep the sword from folding back up.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
