Blog #194: Toy Review: Transformers Kre-O Battle for Energon (Optimus Prime & Megatron)

Transformers Kre-O Battle for Energon

Please read this blog first with my overall thoughts on the second series of Kre-O sets.

Building Set: Optimus Prime and Megatron are both awesome.  Not as great as Vortex, but they’re close.  The vehicle modes especially look nice.  Megatron’s tank is a little different in design than I’ve ever seen.  Clearly he’s a tank, but he doesn’t look like any previous Megatron tank mode.  The Optimus Prime is a cross between movie and G1.    They come with a bank play set.  Apparently Megatron is becoming a bank robber.  No, I don’t get it either.

Kreons: The Optimus Prime and Megatron Kreons are both based on Transformers Prime.  They are nice, but I like the G1 versions from the first series better.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
