Transformers Artifact of the Week: Wizards of the Coast 3D Battle-Cards Game Prototype Promotional Multi-Tool

I picked this up on ebay.  The seller claims that it is a prototype of a promotional item for the 2007 Transformers Battle-Cards Game that was never actually produced.  It’s  miniature size multi-tool with knife, screwdrivers, etc.  I really have no way of knowing if that is true or not.  The font used is, to my eyes, consistent with the font used on the Battle-Cards packaging.  A multi-tool is a little out of left field as a promo item for a collectible card game, but there is no way it couldn’t have been planned.  In any case, it’s pretty cool.

As always, you can find over 9000 Transformers merchandise items and collectibles at TFMuseum.com.  I have not done an update to the site in a while.  Hopefully I will be doing a major update this fall with more than 1000 more items including a huge number of Age of Extinction items.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

I have one of those too. I work across the street from a convention center that hosts a big card gaming show which is probably where I got it from. It is sitting in a drawer somewhere in the office.
