Transformers Authentics Tiny Turbo Changers Series 1 (Arcee, Blackarachnia, Bumblebee, Elita-1, Grimlock, Hot Rod, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Shockwave, Sky-Byte, Soundwave, Starscream, Wheeljack, Whirl)
Arcee and Elita-1
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Arcee
My biggest complaint about Tiny Turbo Changers has been the lack of paint apps. I doubt anyone from Hasbro reads my blog, but these all have significantly more paint apps than previous Tiny Turbo Changers. Bother Arcee and Elita-1 are very nicely painted. Arcee looks especially great.
Blackarachnia
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Blackarachnia
I forgot to flip Blackarachnia’s abdomen around for the pic. She looks very similar in spider mode, but in robot mode the paint apps are much nicer.
Bumblebee
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Bumblebee, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Stealth Force Bumblebee
Bumblebee’s paint apps are better than the previous versions, but not by a lot. The black on his chest and his grill, do make him look better, just not as much better as some of the others.
Grimlock
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Grimlock
Grimlock looks great. The addition of black paint on his head, more red on his waist, and painting his dinosaur claws makes a huge difference.
Hot Rod and Wheeljack
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Hot Rod, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Sideswipe, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Stealth Force Hot Rod, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Wheeljack
In vehicle mode both Hot Rod and Wheeljack now have their exhaust pipes painted, which is a huge improvement. In robot mode, the flames on Hot Rod’s chest and the additional paint on Wheeljack’s head and chest (as well as the omission of his blackface) are also great improvements.
Megatron
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Megatron, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Megatron X
In vehicle mode painting Megatron’s treads makes all the difference, and in robot mode they added paint on his waist and abdomen. He looks really great.
Optimus Prime
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Optimus Prime, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Energon Optimus Prime
In vehicle mode Optimus Prime’s windshield has been painted, so he no longer looks like an unpainted prototype. In robot mode his new paint apps make all the difference.
Ratchet
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Ratchet, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Ironhide
What a difference a few paint apps can make? Ratchet went from looking like crap to looking like Ratchet.
Shockwave
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Shockwave, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Dark Energon Shockwave
The silver and lighter purple paint really make this toy look great.
Sky-Byte
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Sky-Byte
Sky-Byte has less new paint apps than other in the assortment, but the silver on his face is a huge improvement.
Soundwave
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Soundwave
The added paint apps on Soundwave’s grill and hood look great, and the added silver on his robot mode makes all the difference.
Starscream
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Starscream, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Acid Storm, Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Slipstream
Starscream looks amazing. The wing striping in vehicle mode looks great, and he is completely repainted in robot mode. He’s really great looking.
Whirl
Previous Mold Use: Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers Whirl
Whirl has only a few paint changes, but the addition of black on his hands and abdomen, as well as the yellow on his rotor make a big difference.
Overall: These are almost all huge improvements over their previous incarnations. Having said that, if we get another wave I hope we get at least a few new molds. Are they a must have? I wouldn’t go that far, but they are the best versions of these molds.
