Blog #2289: Toy Review: Transformers: Generations: Shattered Glass Deluxe Class Soundwave with Laserbeak & Ravage

Transformers: Generations: Shattered Glass Deluxe Class Soundwave with Laserbeak & Ravage

The Ghost of Fun Pub still haunts us. Each Shattered Glass toy came with an exclusive comic giving them an excuse to overcharge for these toys. All were $9-$12 over retail for a $5 comic. These should have just been done as Selects without the comics for retail price, or better yet, not at all. Mercifully this looks like the last one. They could do more toys, but probably not with comics as IDW is losing the license (thankfully).

Laserbeak

Previous Mold Use: Siege Micromaster Laserbeak, Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy Laserbeak

Laserbeak uses the original head. Paintjob is fine. He still transforms into a rectangle.

Ravage

Previous Mold Use: Siege Micromaster Ravage, Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy Ravage

Ravage uses the original head. Paintjob is fine. He still transforms into a rectangle.

Soundwave

Previous Mold Use: Siege Voyager Class Soundwave, 35th Anniversary Voyager Class Soundblaster, Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy Voyager Class Soundwave, Selects Voyager Class Soundblaster, Legacy Voyager Class Soundwave

I cannot even put into works how much I hate that stupid headband. They wasted mold space on this head sculpt? Ugh. Does he look like Shattered Glass Soundwave, yes. Do I care, no.

Overall: Apparently this toy is turning yellow right out of the box. A brand new toy based on a Fun Pub idea turning the color of piss right out of the box has got to be the most Fun Pub thing I’ve ever heard of.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
