Part of my brain wants to start by praising Hasbro for finally giving us a Blue Bluestreak, but as usual, they had to screw it up, so let’s start with that. Silverstreak? What the actual fuck? I was only barely okay with calling an all silver (or gray) Bluestreak Silverstreak. I hated it, but at least that made a modicum of sense. Where do you get Silverstreak from this toy? His hood is not silver, it’s gunmetal gray. It’s a great looking toy, but can neither be called Blue Bluestreak, who had a silver hood, or Silverstreak who should be all silver or gray. How does Hasbro, after making us wait DECADES for this toy, screw it up? I was so excited when I heard about it, then I found out the name, then I saw the toy, and then the disappointment set in, and only worsened when I actually found it. Does it look great, even though it’s not right? Yes, it does. It’s not a bad toy by any stretch. It’s just not right, and it absolutely could have been. I don’t see any logical reason why Hasbro couldn’t have done it right. They just didn’t. This isn’t about a mold they made wrong, it’s just about using a different color on the hood. It’s mind boggling that they screwed the pooch on this.

Overall: I can’t not recommend a Blue Bluestreak even if they screwed it up. Maybe some day they will dig out the Classics Bluestreak mold and give us a proper Blue Bluestreak from that. I will not hold my breath.
