Blog #2158: Toy Review: Transformers/Jurassic Park Collaborative Tyrannocon Rex and Autobot JP93

Transformers/Jurassic Park Collaborative Tyrannocon Rex and Autobot JP93

The Package: Normally I wouldn’t bother mention a toy’s package, but this set looks incredible in package. If these ever get to deep discount, I will buy a second one to keep in the box.

Autobot JP93

Vehicle Mode: JP93 looks awesome. What a fantastic paintjob. When Hasbro gets it right, they really get it right. Pity they don’t do it more often. Surprisingly JP93 is not a remold, but a completely new toy.

Robot Mode: JP93’s head sculpt is based on Alan Grant’s hat and sunglasses. His shotgun is based on Robert Muldoon’s gun. He looks great. I love the colors.

Tyrannocon Rex

Previous Mold Use: Kingdom Leader Class Megatron, Kingdom Leader Class T-Wrecks

Tyrannocon Rex is a repaint of Kingdom Leader Class Megatron with a new head. I actually think I prefer the mold in this color in dinosaur mode. His head sculpt is very interesting. To me it looks like this head was designed to be G1 Grimlock.

Overall: This is a beautiful set. Probably not a must have unless you love Jurassic Park, but very cool.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
