Blog #2136: Toy Review: Transformers Masterpiece Movie Optimus Prime (Bumblebee Movie)

Transformers Masterpiece Movie Optimus Prime (Bumblebee Movie)

Optimus Prime

Vehicle Mode: The best part of the Bumblebee movie was seeing a true movie style G1 Optimus Prime on screen. He looked AWESOME in his brief appearance at the end of the movie, and the toy version looks just as awesome. I love the look of Bayverse Optimus Prime, but I always wondered what he would have looked like in more of a G1 style. In vehicle mode Optimus Prime looks amazing! My only complaint, and it’s a small one is that he has white striping on the sides of his cab, and silver on the front. Not sure why this wasn’t done in one color. Either would have been fine.

Robot Mode: As with his vehicle mode, in robot mode Optimus Prime is a perfect G1 Prime in Bayverse form. Pity we never saw him this way in the real Bayverse movies.

Overall: This Optimus Prime is an absolute must have.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
