Transformers: Generations Selects Dinobots Terrorcons Gift Set (Blot, Cutthroat, Hun-Gurrr, Rippersnapper, Sinnertwin, Abominus)
This new version of Abominus does not have any remolding, but he does have some new parts, and a really great G1 deco. Most importantly, he does not have those idiotic painted on non-functional rub signs that the Hasbro version had. Whoever okayed that should have been fired.
Blot
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Rippersnapper, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Blot, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Nautilator, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Overbite, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Skalor, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Coelagon
Blot, or Butto, as he is known in Japan, has lighter purple paint than the POTP version. He has many different paint apps, most notably the removal of the silver paint from his chest. He is much more animation accurate.
Cutthroat
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Dinobot Swoop, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Cutthroat, Selects Deluxe Class Dinobot Swoop, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Seawing, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Terrormander, Selects Deluxe Class Dinobot Swoop
Cutthroat uses darker color plastic and has numerous paint differences from the POTP version to make him more animation accurate. Most notably is the yellow replacing purple on his beast head fin, and the gold face. I really like the gold face.
Hun-Gurrr
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Voyager Class Hun-Gurrr, Selects Voyager Class Seacon Snaptrap, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Halfshell
Thankfully, Hun-Gurrr no longer has those dreadful stickers. That alone is an improvement worth the price of this set. He has numerous paint and color changes, many of which are to make Abominus more animation accurate. He has been remolded to remove part of Abominus’s chest and now has an accessory that becomes a shield. That accessory is called Terrorbreaster. He also has Snaptrap’s gun, now in gray. A huge improvement after Hasbro failed unforgivably to include weapons with POTP Hun-Gurrr. He also has two new cannons, which become heal extensions for Abominus.
Rippersnapper
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Rippersnapper, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Blot, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Nautilator, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Overbite, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Skalor, Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Coelagon, Selects Deluxe Class Terrorcon Blot
Like the rest, Rippersnapper is more animation accurate. His blue plastic is darker, and he has numerous paint changes. The most significant change is that his chest/combiner connector, is now silver and gray instead of blue and gray. That is a huge improvement. He has had a minor remolding to the port for his combiner foot or hand. Apparently the Hasbro version has issues with it breaking.
Sinnertwin
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Dinobot Snarl, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Sinnertwin, Selects Deluxe Class Dinobot Snarl
Sinnertwin has much brighter yellow plastic, and his blue has been replaced with green-blue plastic. There are many paint apps changes as well, including his eyes. For some reason Hasbro made them yellow, but they are now the correct red. Like Rippersnapper, his chest/combiner is now colored properly in yellow.
Abominus
Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Combiner Abominus
As with the rest, Abominus is now much more cartoon accurate. The new chest piece looks great, and all the smaller guns can attach to his gun. The most obvious paint changes are his repainted head and his thighs no longer being dark gray. His hands and feet are from Piranacon, but with new toe pieces.
Overall: This is a great set, and to me, it’s a must have. It’s leaps and bounds better than Hasbro’s inferior version.
