Beast Mode: If I were to ignore the fact that Volcanicus is supposed to be a combiner, and just look at him as a robot transforming into a dragon-like creature, he’d be pretty great. He looks very cool. However, that is not the case. He is supposed to be a combiner, and they have lazily folded his robot mode into beast and called it an alt mode. Hasbro is once again phoning it in.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Volcanicus looks awesome. It’s just unfortunate that he is not a combiner. He has a sort of auto-transform feature, but it was not worth the effort to film it.

Overall: If you want to display him in robot mode, he certainly looks cool enough to make him worth it, but you have to ignore the fact that he is not a combiner.
